What nurses are fighting for.

Staffing rules the hospital must follow

Local 332 representative and longtime Genesys nurse Kelly Rivera-Craine has reported assignments above what nurses consider safe, including 10 or more patients on med-surg floors and 3-to-1 ratios in the ICU. The union says nurses need staffing rules with real enforcement.

A fair path back to their jobs

Every striking nurse should be able to return to the position and shift they held before the walkout, with seniority intact. A contract should not leave experienced nurses pushed out of the work they fought to protect.

Fair wages and benefits

Wages matter, but they are not the whole contract. Nurses are also pushing for staffing rules, benefits, and job protections that respect the time they have spent on the line.
